So here are some price comparisons that have made my jaw drop.
(these are estimates from my memory, so I may be a little off)
Regular whole wheat bread:
Utah- $2.99
California- sometimes over $4
Aerobics classes (not a gym membership):
Utah (through BYU)- $48 for 12 weeks
California- $175 a month
Pre-School through the school district:
Utah (Orem)- Free
California- $1,200 a year
Pre-School privately run in a neighbors home
Utah- $75 a month
California- $250 a month
Rent for a small 2 bedroom condo:
Utah: $675 a month
California: almost $2,000 a month!
Yeowza! After all these disconcerting numbers, it's things like this that make me smile and feel a little better.

Lara,
That video is hilarious!!! I've never seen it. Thanks for the laughs.
The observations you made about the price differences in CA, are the exact reasons we choose not to live there. So expensive, but thankfully your husband has a job, and that's a blessing.
Wow! That is some major sticker shock!
The music video is so funny!! Isn't she the same lady that did one about moms? The mom song? She's funny! "Can't fix it with a glob of vaseline on it!" Too funny!
:)
yikes! hopefully eventually a "california paycheck" will help ease the hike up... Yeah RIGHT! :)
Sorry about those prices. That's got to make grocery shopping a little painful.
Funny video :)
UGH... I guess I am okay with that part of not being in California! That Video by the way is awesome. We missed you at our movie the other night!
